Why visit Port Nolloth?
Port Nolloth is the perfect all-year holiday destination because in summer it is like an oasis in the desert, maintaining a moderate temperature of about 28°C due to the cool ocean breeze. And towards the end of winter, the semi-desert surroundings of Namaqualand come alive with fields of brilliantly coloured wildflowers. The majestic Richtersveld mountain-desert is also only a short two hour drive away, making Port Nolloth the perfect base for nature lovers. In town, you can visit the local museum (next to Bedrock Lodge) to learn more about the fascinating history of Port Nolloth and its people. From there, you can take a leisurely walk down the Grazia de Beer Beachfront, along the boardwalk towards a magnificent white, sandy beach. On your way you will pass many historic buildings, among them the oldest Roman Catholic Church (est. 1904) in the area.
